Stage Electrics Begins Installation At Staffordshire University’s New £40m Flagship Building

Stage Electrics has begun work on VINCI Construction UK’s latest project at Staffordshire University, “The Catalyst”. The Catalyst, an 8,800 sqm, four-storey building, will include designated social learning areas, a food court and a flexible event space, which, when complete, will act as a study base for 6,500 new apprenticeships by 2030.

Working in the main flexible event space, Stage Electrics are installing 6x8m Prolyte Black trusses with internally wired bars and DMX infrastructure that will be used for hosting conferences and events for apprentices, students, staff and local employers.

Digital technology and accessibility will also be embedded across the building making it the most connected facility on campus. The University plans to use The Catalyst as a digital blueprint for future transformation projects on its Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, and London campuses.

The project is due to be completed in Autumn 2021.
