Stage Electrics features on BBC Radio Bristol
Stage Electrics Technical Solutions Engineer Martin Woodage featured on BBC Radio Bristol last week to talk about an exciting project at the historic Curzon Cinema in Clevedon.
Stage Electrics have recently provided the Curzon Cinema with updated equipment and custom facility panels.
Following conversations at the end of last year with Andrew and Gemma from the Curzon, the team embarked on a plan to provide facility panels, new lighting positions, LED lanterns, a replacement lighting desk and a digital audio desk. All with a vision of enhancing the performances that regularly take place in the venue.
In the main cinema space, the team have installed a new lighting bar that will provide better coverage of the stage area and also added the ability to plug in extra lanterns on the balcony space. A new Chauvet LED lighting rig including 2 R1X Wash Lights, 2 R1X spots and wash lanterns have been supplied, together with a Vari-lite FLXs lighting desk and an Allen and Heath QU16 + stage box for audio.
A major part of the work was moving an existing amplifier rack in the control room to a new location. This was done to enable an additional 35mm projector to be installed at a later date, part of Curzon's ambitions to show traditional 35mm films again.
Martin Woodage offered some insights into the project: "This project has been a pleasure to work on, and we hope that we can build a solid relationship with Andrew and Gemma to offer Stage Electric's full package of services in the future."
